Our New Look
IPC recently charged a focus group with the task of creating a new company name. We wanted something that better represented who we are and the services that we have to offer the marketplace.
Interviews with management and employees of our individual sales groups revealed some interesting comments about the old logo, including the following:
"IPC Communications Services? That doesn't say anything about our core business: printing!"
"We're more of a regional printer than a global organization. The globe doesn't really speak to our regional focus."
"Communication services? That sounds like we're a phone company!"
It was obvious it was time for a change; in other words, a corporate identity program was in order. We needed a name that would clearly define to our external audience-our clients and competitors-who we are and what we do. Updating our corporate identity would also help all of us in the company speak in one, knowledgeable voice: We are IPC Print Services.
Once we decided on the new name, we needed a new logo to reflect our updated corporate identity. From a design perspective it had to be close enough to the old logo to represent our company's stability and continuity, and yet graphically different enough to signify our company's growth and new direction. To this end, the selection of the right typeface and composition of the design elements were crucial considerations.
Everything came together. We updated our sales materials, stationery, and newsletter - now our Web site revisions reflect our new look -- and outlook.
We are IPC Print Services' and we're proud of it!
